Den andra vgenTo create awareness and a broad commitment on the Baltic Sea, BalticSea2020 provides study guides for teachers and students in the region around the Baltic Sea. The study guides are based on the documentaries of Folke Rydén within the project the Baltic Sea Media Project. In spring 2014 the study guides were updated, in order to relate the information to different subjects according the Swedish curriculum (Lgr 11).

The update makes it easier for the teacher to assess which sections of the material that may be relevant in view of the curriculum and the track system. The study guides are based on the documentaries For Cod’s Sake (2009), which focuses on overfishing in the Baltic Sea, Dirty Waters (2011) which addresses the problems of how the industrial meat production causes the eutrophication of the Baltic Sea, and The Second Wave (2013), which is about how environmental toxins affect animals and people around our inland sea. The study guides are made for students from twelve years and older.

The films and the study guides are collected in a DVD-box that can be ordered free of charge from www.utbudet.se (to Sweden only). The study guides are also available at our website, click here. There you can find more information about the films and the study guides. Since 2013 the foundation also has started distributing of study guides to schools in Finland.
