Information: BalticSea2020s school supplies used by several schools in Sweden

In 2007, BalticSea2020s grand media project The Baltic Sea Media Project was initiated by Folke Rydén and Mattias Klum. For ten years they will produce five documentaries and a feature film as well as develop interactive educational materials for educators, teachers and students in the region around the Baltic Sea. Until today, over 25,000 DVDs with documentaries and related study guides have been ordered by schools in Sweden.

The Baltic Sea Media Project is BalticSea2020s largest media project in which filmmaker and freelance journalist Folke Rydén and filmmaker and photographer Mattias Klum is working with one of the most long-term journalistic film and media efforts to date in Sweden. Until today, three documentaries with related study guides and a feature film has being produced. The study guides are based on the documentaries For Cod's Sake (2009), which focuses on overfishing in the Baltic Sea, Dirty Waters (2011) which faces the issues of eutrophication as partly a result of the intense meat production in the countries surrounding the Baltic Sea, and the Second Wave (2013), which is about modern environmental toxins affecting animals and people around the Baltic Sea. The study guides addresses students from 12 years, but can be used right up to the secondary level.

The DVD with the documentaries and related study guides can be order free of charge via www.utbudet.se (only avaible for schools in Sweden). Until today more than 25,000 DVDs has been ordered by schools in the country. A new feature this year is that schools in Finland are able to order the DVD from Utbudet in Finland.
