October 13, the EU fisheries ministers decided on the Baltic Sea fish quotas for 2015. The cod quota in the eastern Baltic Sea was reduced to 15,900 tonnes, a reduction by 22 %.
The cod quota in the western Baltic Sea was reduced by 6,5 % (51,429 tons). In addition, the quota for sprat was reduced by 11 %, while the quoata for herring in the eastern Baltic Sea was increased by 45 % and herring in the western Baltic Sea with 12 %.
