The county administrative boards will receive more than SEK 400 million for local water conservation

Today, the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management (SwAM) announced that the Swedish county administrative boards will receive over SEK 400 million this year for local water conservation work to reduced eutrophication.

The money is dedicated to activities like fish conservation, liming, LOVA projects, work with water management, action programs for endangered species and on measures to improve, preserve, restore and protect marine and aquatic environments. Last year, SwAM distributed a total of SEK 374 million to the county administrative boards dedicated to similar activities, this year they receive a total of SEK 399 million. In addition, SwAM has decided to provide SEK 21 million to the county administrative boards, which means a total sum of SEK 419.9 million.
