The Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management has introduced a five-year fishing ban in Björnöfjärden, Säbyviken and Torpe-Infjärden on Ingarö in Värmdö municipality, in order to strengthen the fish population. The ban is valid from April 1 to June 15.

The fishing ban is one of the measures within the program Living coast which is carried out in the area. The ban allows the fish to spawn in peace and gives the fish a chance to recover. In turn the bay system regains a natural fish population. For more information, please read the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management press release here (in Swedish).
